我是英語老師，每年都布置學(xué)生寫關(guān)于春節(jié)的作文，我來綜合一下他們的答案。

春節(jié)是中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日，它的來源有幾種說法，最常見的有兩種。一種是起源于殷商時(shí)期年頭歲末祭神祭祖活動(dòng)；另一種是古時(shí)的傳說，村莊里出現(xiàn)了一種叫做“年”的怪獸，它們傷人傷動(dòng)物，最后人們用鞭炮、紅色等趕跑了這種怪獸。

每一年春節(jié)的飲食和習(xí)俗就跟這兩種說法有關(guān)。中國(guó)地大物博，民族眾多，各個(gè)地方慶祝春節(jié)的美食和習(xí)俗都不一樣。

用英語介紹美食和習(xí)俗，先了解漢語對(duì)應(yīng)的說法。

1、春節(jié)必吃的三種食物：餃子、湯圓、年糕。北方初一吃餃子，南方吃湯圓。南北方很多地方在過年期間吃年糕，寓意“年年高”。

During the Spring Festival, three kinds of food are usually served. They are dumplings (jiaozi), sweet dumplings and sticky rice cake.

On the first day of the Chinese New year, people have jiaozi in north while sweet dumplings in south. As well, they eat the sticky rice cake which symbolizes having a higher position for jobholders or becoming taller for children.

2、年夜飯是春節(jié)期間最重視的一頓飯。除夕夜全家聚在一起，餐桌上有雞、鴨、魚、牛羊肉。魚是必須有的，代表年年有余。

The Family Reunion Dinner plays a vital role in the Spring Festival. Family members get together to have a rich dinner on New Year's Eve.

Apart from chicken, duck, pork, beef and mutton, fich is indispensable because it means abundance in materials in the next year.

3、春節(jié)期間各個(gè)地方有豐富的慶祝活動(dòng)。貼對(duì)聯(lián)，剪窗花，掛燈籠，放鞭炮，拜年，逛廟會(huì)等等。對(duì)孩子們來說，最開心的莫過于收到長(zhǎng)輩們給的壓歲錢。

Varieties of activities are held to observe this special festival.

People paste red couplets and papercutting on doors and windows, hang lanterns, light fireworks, pay a new year's call to relatives, and go to the Temple Fairs etc..

For children, getting pocket money from the elders is the most delightful thing during the festival.
